Herbal Glycerites Workshop: August 18, 2019
In this workshop, we will create beautiful summertime herbal glycerites. These herbal preparations are delicious, therapeutic, and safe for all ages. Our anise hyssop, catnip, lavender, and peppermint glycerites are especially wonderful for children.
In this workshop we will discuss what glycerine is, and how to use it in herbal medicine making. We will walk through our herb gardens to identify and harvest herbs for making into glycerites. Next, we will prepare fresh and dried plant glycerites, highlighting the medicinal properties and energetic qualities of the herbs that we work with. Depending on seasonal availability, we will make glycerites out of: anise hyssop, peppermint, catnip, lavender, rosemary, and lemon balm. Participants will leave with handouts from topics covered in class and a collection of glycerites to take home.
This is going to be a wonderful class, where you can build your herbal home medicine chest. We hope to have you join us!
